Robert says we have left the simplicity of the New Testament and allowed too many extras. He points out in the New Testament house churches were prevalent. The events of Pentecost came in a house. Paul develops home churches. Peter was released from prison and he goes to a house church. Cornelius’s home is where the first Gentiles are welcomed into the church. Lydia lead the first church in Europe and it was in a house. When in Rome Paul was imprisoned in the house and he received others there.
Robert says that God loves small things and little things. He stresses that the body builds the body and this is can be seen in Ephesians 4:16. He says that traditional Christian leaders try to do what only the body can do. Only when the body is fully functioning can believers become mature. He advocates for discussion Bible studies. He says that the church needs to use interactive Bible studies. This is reading the Bible and then discussing it. In Colossians 4:16 the believers are instructed to read the Bible to the church. He stresses that the Bible was written for ordinary people and not clergy. New Testament documents were written to the people of the church to be told to the other people of the church. I Timothy 4:13 says to devote yourself to the reading of scriptures. Robert says we must get away from the concept of experts are the only ones that can understand the Bible. The Bible was written for the saints. (Colossians 1:25-27) Robert stresses that the sheep do not belong to a pastor but to Jesus. That is why God loves to use weak things and little things to accomplish His work so the glory goes to God.
