The Church Comes Home by Robert and Julia Banks

Robert and Julia banks have been involved with house churches for 25 years. He has taught at Fuller Seminary. Robert says that house churches are better experience than explained. There is considerable variety in house churches. God creates community between himself and his people. Believers are responsible to become Christ to one another.

Robert talks about a holistic approach of focusing on each other as much as on God. Church must balance worship and fellowship. Believers are not just consumers but producers. House churches are not perfect but they are family. They work through their problems. The power of Christ was always greater than their problems.

Robert provides a good history of house churches since the early church. In the book he says small is beautiful. This is why a house church is better about developing people and not programs. He has a great section on lay people talking about their experiences and house churches.
