Neil examines the organic Church movements. Neil advocates for what he calls simple churches. His movement wants to lower the bar of how church is done and raise the bar of what it means to be a disciple. When believers focus on promoting the message of Jesus churches will be started.
In this book Neil talks about life transformation groups. These are small groups of three people that disciple one another and become the foundation for building leadership and house churches. Neil advocates in this book that house church is about sharing a common life and not about a worship style. Jesus becomes present amongst his people.
In most traditional churches the focus is on the pastor and he is more noticeable than the presence of Jesus. Neil also talks about what makes good soil and bad soil. He advocates that broken people have a lot of fertilizer in their life and make for good soil when they receive the Gospel. He says if we invest in others they willingly will follow Jesus. He advocates that churches need to focus on planting seeds and leave the results to God.
