Introduction: A House Church Manifesto
Welcome to the website of Kansas City House churches. Christian you were created for greatness. Jesus said that his followers would do greater things than he did. John 14:12 Christians around the world are doing things that are changing the world. The Church does not need greater clergy and better sermons. The church needs a laity or people of God who are fully mature in Christ. The church needs lay people who are fulfilling their divine calling of being ambassadors for Christ and ministering in his name. House churches are helping believers come to fullness in Christ and the following 10 essays help explain how they do that.
The ten short essays that follow explain the theology and practices of House Churches. These ideas have been gleaned from readings of such house church leaders such as: Neil Cole, Frank Viola, Wolfgang Simpson, Rad Zdero, Robert Banks, Tony and Felicity Dale and others. It is highly recommended that once you read the 10 essays to read more in depth by some of these home church leaders and authors for a more thorough understanding of house churches. An annotated book list is included in the appendix.
One last thing, there is no substitute for experience. Reading about house churches is one thing, attending a house church is another. Every believer is capable of starting a house church but being involved in one is the best training there is. This organization’s purpose is to help, assist, train and encourage believers to start house churches. If after reading the articles you feel lead of God to become involved in the house church movement contact us and you will be invited to attend a house church meeting or assistance can be arranged to help you start a house church.
The organization’s goal is to see house churches started in every neighborhood in Kansas City so that people can walk to be with other believers.
